How CFMNY handles information submitted through the website and related communications.
Effective date: September 23, 2026
CFMNY may receive information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, school or district, role, and messages or requests. We may also receive basic technical information generated when you visit the site, such as browser type, device information, referring pages, and general usage data if analytics tools are enabled.
Educator registration requests your first and last name, email address, password, educator role, school or district, and state. Subject area and grade levels are optional. Supabase provides authentication and account storage. Passwords are used for authentication and are not stored in educator profiles, access notes, or download records.
Teacher-resource access uses email verification and an explicit educator self-declaration. The declaration is completed after a verified sign-in. Access then activates automatically unless the account has an access restriction. CFMNY does not independently verify educator employment under this access model and does not require routine administrator approval, staff-directory links, or employment documents.
We record the declaration wording and version, acceptance time, account identifier, and confirmed email associated with the access decision. Legacy review information, where already provided, and exceptional suspension or restoration decisions may remain in private access records. Do not submit student records, passwords, or other confidential information.
Public student materials may be viewed and downloaded without an account. Teacher materials, answer keys, teacher instructions, and teacher-controlled assessments require active educator-account access. There is no guest teacher-resource sampling allowance.
Sign-in cookies maintain your account session. Account-access cookies expire within approximately one hour and may be renewed using a refresh cookie lasting up to 30 days. Authorized teacher-download records may include the account identifier, resource identifier, file format, and time of the request. We use these records to administer access and understand resource use. Public student downloads do not require teacher-account cookies.
The public contact form collects your name, reply email address, topic, and message. School or district and program details are optional. No CFMNY account or email-app sign-in is required. We save inquiries privately in Supabase and use Resend to send an internal notification. The email address you supply is used as the reply address; submitting a form does not verify your identity, create an account, or enroll you in a newsletter.
Website contact records are deleted by daily cleanup after 180 days. Copies of email notifications and subsequent correspondence may remain in our email systems as needed to respond and maintain business records. We limit submissions and notification attempts to reduce spam and protect service capacity. We also store a submission identifier, a keyed duplicate-detection value, notification status, and administrative handling status. Do not include student records, passwords, payment details, or account-verification codes.
Information may be used to operate accounts, verify email addresses, record educator declarations, respond to inquiries, provide requested resources, process evaluation-copy or program requests, improve the website, and support school or district implementation discussions.
Creating an educator account and accepting the educator declaration do not automatically subscribe you to marketing or newsletter emails. Account verification and necessary service messages are separate from optional updates. If you request weekly resources or other updates, we use the information you provide to send them. You may ask to stop receiving non-transactional communications at any time.
CFMNY and Youthwise Press do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers necessary to operate the website or deliver requested services, including Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and database services, and Resend for transactional email, subject to appropriate safeguards, or when required by law.
Accounts are intended for educators and education professionals. Students do not need to register for public student materials. Tests, quizzes, and other teacher-controlled assessments are distributed by educators rather than published in the public student library. CFMNY does not request sensitive student records. Please do not submit personally identifiable student information through public forms or email unless specifically requested through an appropriate secure process.
Contact info@cfmny.org to ask about your account, an access restriction, correction of account information, or account deletion.
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
